Transport and Logistics 10 week course
Who Should Attend
This course is designed to provide an opportunity for secondary school students who would like to pathway into the Transport and Logistics industry as well as gain 25 level 3 credits. This course is contracted through local secondary school gateway provision. If you are interested, get in contact with your school gateway co-ordinator.
Course Duration:
- Term Programme: 10 week – 1 day per week – Starts at the beginning of each Term
- School Holiday programme - 2 weeks
- This includes work experience within the industry
Course structure:
- Week 1-5 – Health and Safety, Manual Handling, Hearing Protection Training
- Week 6-10 – Forklift Training and Work Experience.
Study Method:
- Face to Face – pre study material.
Entry Requirements:
- You must be at least 15 years of age and attending a secondary school.
Fees and other costs:
- 650+gst
Prices include all course study material, tuition fees.
Unit Standards covered:
10851: Operate a powered industrial lift truck (forklift)
30265: Apply health and safety risk assessment to a job role
19522: Undertake a job safety analysis
17594: Identify the causes of back injury and methods to prevent back injuries in the workplace.
17594: Demonstrate knowledge of hearing conservation in the workplace

- This course is available at our Auckland Branch – 171 Weymouth Road Manurewa.
Work Experience location will be confirmed after booking.
PPE requirement:
Steel cap boots, hi-viz vest and gloves.
Once successfully completed all NZQA credits are reported on your record of learning with NZQA.
